How do you spend your days?

I work in an aged care facility as an activities officer (I get to play all kinds of fun games with residents) and as an administration officer (receptionist) so I spend a lot of time interacting with people and on the computer. I spend my afternoons either at rehearsals for the local theatre group that I'm involved in or with family and friends.

How does your light sensitivity impact your day-to-day life?

On a day to day basis I am exposed to fluorescent lights, whether it be at work, rehearsals or even in my home. I had noticed that the fluorescent lights, glare from computer screens, and glare from outdoor light seemed to be causing most of my migraines, and I was at a loss as to what I should do about it. Before receiving my TheraSpecs I was often getting up to 3 migraines a week and this was causing me to miss various social events and a lot of work. I could even get a migraine from just walking into my own kitchen in the morning where the sunlight shines in the window.

What prompted you to try TheraSpecs?

I got to the point where I would try just about anything to help my migraines and I had figured out that most of them were somehow related to light sensitivity. I decided I would google it, I typed in ' migraine glasses' and one of the first results was TheraSpecs.

Which style of TheraSpecs do you own? Why did you select that style?

I own the Classic style of TheraSpecs, I chose these because I have owned similar glasses previously and thought they would suit my face and they do.

What else have you tried?

For my migraines I had tried changing my diet which had no impact on them, I had tried medication that had given me nasty side effects and I had bought some polarized sunglasses but they seemed no good to me as I could not wear them inside where all the fluorescent lights are.

How do TheraSpecs help you?

I get an instant relief from TheraSpecs as soon as I put them on, they stop so much of that nasty glare from computer screens, fluorescent lights, and glare from outside. I can attend all rehearsals now without the worry that I might get a migraine because the fluorescent lights seem to have no effect when I'm wearing my glasses. When I go to work and I'm on a computer all day I wear my TheraSpecs and at the end of it my eyes aren't as sore and straining as they used to be from the exposure to the bright screen light. I feel like I couldn't be without my TheraSpecs now.
